About Nomads
Nomads: Tribes of people who live in harmony with the seasons. The oldest method of human existence. People who travel to follow the generous gifts of the earth, rather than tailoring the earth to their needs.
It might sound cliché, but the dream of creating our sustainable styles began in the year 2000, out of the back of a small VW van, with just a few rolls of fabric and a sewing machine. We relied almost entirely on the kindness of our friends, who would let us use their living rooms as sewing studios, and encumber their bathrooms with dye baths. Gotta love your own tribe.
Through our nomadic lifestyle, we grew to appreciate living sustainably, in harmony with our community and our surroundings. It only made sense to find and use fabrics that fit this mandate. Consumerism is all about the power of choice. Choose the planet with clothing that’s like a rock anthem of Earth-love: bamboo leggings that could shake you all night long, and hemp hoodies that make you want to give us all your lovin’ (all your hugs and kisses too). What we say…
Sarah says she was a hater of thongs, but she has become a convert. We normally cover the elastic in our other pairs of underwears, but we thought the elastic was kind of lacy and cute so we let it show. Turned out that was a great move; the elastic is actually awesome! It sticks to your skin (nicely) and holds the g string in place so it doesn’t go up your …stuff. Truly comfortable organic G-strings…who knew it was possible?
Why did we make this incredibly comfortable thong out of organic cotton and bamboo?
Because we love this gorgeous playground called planet earth, and we don’t want to be a part of killing it just to look cool. Since our inception, we have continued to explore and experiment with sustainable fabrics like Hemp, Organic Cotton, Bamboo, and Soy (among others). All Nomads Hemp Wear clothing is also certified Fair Trade.
